Tondwa Hunting Block
Baobab Safaris Limited is currently operating the Tondwa Game Management Area which lies adjacent to Nsumbu National Park on the southern shores of Lake Tanganyika in the Northern most tip of Zambia. It is classified as a Multiple Use Management Area covering 54,000 ha. Tondwa boasts a wide range of species. One of Tondwa’s specialities is the shy, swamp-dwelling sitatunga along with roan, sable, eland, hartebeest, zebra as well as buffalo. Bushbuck, warthog and puku graze in abundance on the swamps of Lake Tondwa. The rare blue duiker, a small forest antelope, is found along with the spotted hyena, side-striped jackal, impala, waterbuck and reedbuck.
Nyampala Hunting Block
Until 2021, it was operating in the Nyampala Hunting Block is situated in the Munyamadzi corridor bordered by the North South Luangwa National Parks as well as the Luambe National Parks. This is one of the top areas in Zambia and amongst the best on the continent. The density of game inhabiting the hunting block is phenomenal.
The Luangwa, Munyamadzi, Mupamadzi and Mutinondo rivers are the four major rivers that flows through the area providing lifelines for the large herds of the game animals which include baboon, buffalo, bushbuck, bushpig, crocodile, duiker common, grysbok, hartebeest, hippopotamus, hyena, impala, klipspringer, kudu, leopard, lion, monkey vervet, puku, reedbuck, roan antelope, warthog, waterbuck common, wildbeest cookson and zebra.
